Experiments in the NIS NTC laboratory show an increase in the cetane number of up to 2. The Cetane number defines the behaviour of diesel fuel during compression ignition. The increase in the cetane number enables stable ignition, more even and complete combustion, increased engine power, and easier start. In addition, noise during engine operation as well as the emission of harmful gases is reduced.
